Greetings,
Today we noticed something sticking out of the screech owl box we
have put up. Anticipating it to be a squirrel, we thought nothing of
it until a look through the binoculars confirmed it was a grey phase
screech owl. Fancy that ! Our first screech owl in the box. We also
were jolted awake at 3:40 this morning to the very loud call of a
Great Horned Lark. Although there was plenty of moon light we failed
to detect the bird but listened as another Great Horned joined in the
conversation from deeper in the woods. What a joy to have two
different kind of owl sin a 24 hour period.
Happy birding
Dorothy
