Jerry Talkington, Ray Hannikman and I had a very early Black Scoter flyby this morning, while doing a lake watch at Headlands in Lake County. It was flying very fast headed east, perhaps it had been startled by a kayak. We also had several other first ducks for the fall flyby. I have two distant photos of the scoter, which was an adult male, at the link.
