Two of the Juv Least Bitterns showed well off & on at Beaver Marsh this AM. They seemed more independent & I watched one catch a small fish. Some observers said the parents are still feeding them. Most there had not seen the adults this AM.
They were on the west side of the trail N of the lock. Often buried in the cattails but would occ come out to the edges. Quite vocal which was cool.
A couple Com Nighthawks flew by the Metro bike trail this evening along w/a couple Chimney Swifts.
The neighborhood Osprey caught a fish late this afternoon at the apt pond--looked like it might have been another Koi.
