FINALLY! This morning I headed for a reliable spot along the Chagrin River,
about 1 mile west of Chagrin Falls. I walked about 4 - 5 minutes north
(downstream) of the small parking area. I first heard it take-off, then, a
moment later the sounds of wind whistling through its wings as it descended
earthward in its characteristic spiral pattern - then PEENT ... PEENT!
The first sound was heard about 6:55am. I continued to walk the dog in
hopes of finding another bird but no luck. When I returned to the spot at
7:25 the calling had ceased. I am sure it will be there again tonight just
before dark if morning is not convenient for you.
