I observed five ducks (four normal mallards, and a larger melanistic form) in the western end of Lake Logan on Sunday morning, October 30). The dark duck had a dark purple speculum, black body, and the bills had a narrow yellow base, mostly black , and a white band near the tip. Pictures are in Facebook, Ohio Bird Photography.
