Driving to Ravenna I slowed down as I crossed the water and the bird was within easy binocular range.

It could get crowded this weekend so here is a suggestion. All the ducks are close to the road early in the day, within 8x binoc range. If you stay near the parking area by the bridge everyone will get a chance to see. If people move out along the road the ducks will move west and the Wigeons favor the shallows, waaaay back from the road. If that happens will need a scope for positive ID.

Also, early is better since the sun will be at your back. By 6pm it will be in your face making positive ID very difficult.

Good luck,

Matt Valencic
