Paul Swarmer and I spent all day in the Funk Bottoms area in Wayne County.
The numbers of waterfowl there are more than I remember in many years.
Particularly the numbers of pintail were nearly unbelieveable, well over

Canada goose
black duck - 2
mallard - 10
pintail - 10,000+
green-wing teal - 50
shoveler - 1
wood duck - 24
redhead - 50
ring-neck duck - 200+
lesser scaup - 1
rusty blackbird - 15
*Wilderness Rd, including some back areas*:
pied-billed grebe - 1
tundra swan - 20
Canada goose
mallard - 6
gadwall - 25
pintail - 3000+
green-wing teal - 20
blue-wing teal - 5
Am. wigeon - 50
shoveler - 15
ring-neck duck - 400+
canvasback - 20
lesser scaup - 20
bufflehead - 4
red-breasted merganser - 3
Wilson's snipe - 3 (Schwartzwalder Rd.)
E. phoebe - 1 FOY!
