Greetings!
Got out to do a bit of botanizing and research at Salt Fork State Park (Guernsey County - Delorme 61) today and had a couple of good birds, as well.
I had the opportunity to investigate a stream, near the junction of NR 55 & 52, and waaayyyy back in I discovered a great series of cascading waterfalls and sandstone overhangs. It was in this area that I discovered a Winter Wren foraging around the outcroppings and near the confluence of the streams, I flushed a Ruffed Grouse out of a tangle of grapevine.
Not much else in the way of migrants at the moment, at least where I was today, but they are slowly filtering through the park...if you look in the right places.
More later...
Good birding,
Jason
