I checked out the Dublin gorge of the Scioto River, figuring that its water gradient would keep this part of the river open. The result was an impressive concentration of geese and mallards, with a few unusual waterfowl thrown in. Landbirds were also interesting along the river, but stops at parks away from the gorge (Coventry Woods, Traphagen Preserve) found little. I stopped at Kiwanis, Amberleigh, and the O'Shaughnessy Dam Parks, and notables included:

CanadaGeese - nearly 1000 in those 3 stops, with most roosting at Kiwanis
Mallards - almost 800 between those 3 stops
BlackDucks - small #s at O'Shaughnessy and Amberleigh
ComGoldeneye - 1 female at Kiwanis
ComMerganser - 5 males fishing in the river north of Amberleigh
HoodedMerganser - 14 at Kiwanis
GreatBlueHerons - 5 at Kiwanis, 10 at Amberleigh, and 17 below O'Shaughnessy Dam
BaldEagle - 1 juvenile eyeing the feeder waterfowl at Amberleigh
Gulls - small #s everywhere else, but the big flock was still 220+ around the Dam
WinterWren - 1 was calling along the trail at Kiwanis
Kinglets - Golden-crowns at most sites, but O'Shaughnessy also had a Ruby-crown
E.Bluebirds - small groups at CoventryWoods and O'ShaughnessyDam
