The Columbus Audubon field trip to Killdeer Plains turned up a great
assortment of waterfall and raptors. Steve Landes has already reported
several of the highlights; with some repetition, these include: Snow,
Ross's, and Greater White-fronted Geese (all on Pond 27); many Rough-legged
Hawks; Saw-whet Owl; singing Meadowlarks; and Short-eared Owls galore,
including some sitting on perches, well before dark along Twp Rd 108 just
north of the Sportsmen's Center.
