A short time ago, about 2:30PM Saturday, a Piping Plover flew into the sandspit at Conneaut. It is presently 2;55PM and resting on a sandbar in the middle of the wetland area. We have recorded 36 species of birds since 1PM. Some other highlights are 3 Dunlin in breeding plumage, 160+ Bonaparte's Gulls, 38 Caspian Terns, and a single adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, just to name a few. Beware!!! Access is a bit tricky thru the sand away from the waters edge.
