Brad Sparks and I visited the northernmost pond at the Darby wetlands,
finding the following shorebirds this afternoon:
2 spotted sandpipers
2 greater yellowlegs
40 lesser yellowlegs
10 semip. sandpipers
2 pectoral sandpipers
6 stilt sandpipers
1 Wilson's phalarope
4 red-necked phalaropes
Lots of shallow spots and emerging mudflats in the westernmost portion.
Also seen were eight great egrets, several hundred ducks (mallards,
blue-winged teals, wood ducks, shovelers), pair and young pied-billed
grebes, peregrine falcon, and a harrier (evidently a pair at least
summered here).
