This evening I was delighted to welcome our first-of-season Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher to our property in rural Athens County. The buzzy "bzee!" note
caught my ear, and I was hesitant to believe my ears at first, but it
persisted, and then I spotted the bird. It's tiny stature, long tail, and
constant movement high in the tree tops cinched the ID for me. I was very
excited, indeed!!
I also saw a Belted-Kingfisher along the creek that runs parallel to our
road, which is a first for our "neighborhood."
Good birding!
