hit the trails @ 7:45 to 61* with
ZERO wind (lake looked like glass)
sunny, but a sort of smog sort of
hanging in the air early
 
large group (20+)led by Andy Jones (ornith
from CMNH)
we stared counting birds along the fence
behind the building then to the gate - 
we walked directly north up the main path
and out to the point - headed east to the dike - 
and then back south toward the gate (we did
NOT walk the entire preserve)
 - walk continued up the hill to behind
the building
 
 
44 species is my personal count of seen birds
 
Chimney Swifts - many, many!!
American Goldfinch - 10+
Red-winged Blackbird - 20+
European Starling - 3
American Robin - 8+
Yellow Warbler - 40+
Willow Flycatcher - 5
Magnolia Warbler - 3
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 10+

Warbling Vireo - 3
Canada Goose - 3
Least Flycatcher - 2
Barn Swallow - 25+
Baltimore Oriole - 15+

Blackpoll Warbler - 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 2
Wilson's Warbler - 3
Great Blue Heron - 6
Red-headed Woodpecker - 1
