This evening was my first time to watch Chimney Swifts come to roost. The location was the Huntington Bank at 40 Front St., Berea. Have a seat across the street at the newly renovated McKelvey Park and don't let the noisy kids playing in the fountain bother you.
The swifts started gathering in the area a little before 8:00 pm and increased in number. I didn't really try to count but guess we saw more than 150 enter the chimney. The show was over by 8:22 pm.
