Hi Everyone,
I thought I might as well just add new species as I see them at Shaker
Lakes. Of course, my list for the area will never be as long as the people
who, led by the intrepid Julie West, mist-net and band birds through the
season, but right now, after this long winter, itıs such a pleasure to see
the migrnts coming in...
I went there today to leave my plant sale order (due this week; donıt
forget!!) and had a little look around. It was pretty quiet around the
boardwalk. But I had a few new migrants:
Chipping Sparrowjust one, near the entrance to the Nature Center
And at Horseshoe Lake:
Northern Rough-wing Swallow
Tree Swallow: several of each.
Best wishes,
Steve Cagan
