In our pursuit of 120 birds in July, as suggested on this list earlier, Becky and I made two stops along the lakeshore Friday afternoon.

At the middle harbor of East Harbor SP we saw no phalaropes, avocets, pelicans, or Black Terns and only heard rumors of a Baird's Sandpiper, but we did find a small group of Semipalmated Plovers.

On the beach at Camp Perry west of Port Clinton we found one Ruddy Turnstone, two Red Knots, and a small group of Sanderlings.  Be aware that the NRA National Matches run through August 15.  I think all the shooting takes place in the morning, but I really don't know.

Our total for July is now 146 with 3 unshared birds.  So far our search has been limited to our "home range" of Wood, Sandusky, Erie, Ottawa, and Lucas Counties.  There are still about a dozen resident birds that we think we can find, although we haven't yet, and more migrants are passing through every day.  So now we are trying for 150, and have not yet decided if that means combined or each.
