I found myself working in Powell, so I stopped at several spots around lower O'Shughnessy Reservoir this afternoon after the rain let up, Stops at Traphagen Preserve, O'Shaughnessy Dam/Frink Park, and the Twin Lakes area found little beyond numerous gnatcatchers & a handful of temperate migrants. Notables included:
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1 calling at Traphagen
Red-tailed Hawks - a pair hanging out around the dam
Pileated Woodpeckers - birds drumming at both Traphagen and Twin Lakes
Flycatchers - only E.Phoebes, 2 at Traphagen, 1 at the dam
Swallows - most conspicuous migrants, with flocks feeding over the reservoir above the dam. Mostly Trees & Barns, but also a few Rough-wings and Cliffs.
Blue-headed Vireo - 1 in Frink Park below the dam
Kinglets - few left; only had single Runby Crowns at Traphagen & Twin Lakes
Brown Thrasher - 1 singing in the overgrown field at Traphagen
Warblers - Yellow-rumps at every stop, plus Black-thr.Green & Palm below the dam
Sparrows - a Swamp at Traphagen was the only unusual one; small groups of White-throateds at many stops
