My wife, daughter and I followed yesterday's post and birded Big Island Wildlife Preserve in Marion County today. We hit a couple areas and in addition to scads of Canada Geese we saw the following ducks:
Wetlands preserves on. SR 203 just north of SR 739:
Lesser Scaups (a score or two dozen) males and females
Hooded Merganser 4-6
Northern Shoveler 8-20
Trumpeter Swans (2)
American wigeon m&f
Buffleheads male and female
T-84 pond just north of LaRue Prospect Rd.
Canvas backed
N. Pintail
Small pond on LaRue Prospect Rd. Just South Keener Pike:
Red Head ducks males and females.
Less Scaups
Les Chambers
Delaware OH
