Yesterday, April 8, counted 40 common loons on LaDue Reservoir, down
slightly from last week's 50+ and 3/25's 100. About 250 A. coots,
200+ red-br. mergansers, a raft of 60ish lesser scaup, some ruddy
ducks, a few pied-billed and horned grebes. No doubt more beyond the
reach of my old 20x Bushnell Spacemaster scope.
Also on April 8th:
* a single common loon at the south end of East Branch Reservoir in
Headwaters Park off Rt. 608 in Geauga Co.
3 common egrets and a pair of kestrels in the Tare Creek Marsh on
either side of Rt. 608 in North of Middlefield.
