Hello. Was a bit disappointed with the Plains. I always read on this list the great abundance of birds of prey but when I'm up there I don't experience the same numbers. I was there today and visited the owl grove for the third time in four years.Today is the first time to see an owl - my first Saw-whet.  I was thrilled. Saw no other owls but heard of reports of a Long-eared and a Barn but to no avail. No Short-eared either around Sportsmen Center. Saw quite a few Northern Harriers (female and male) a few Red-tail Hawks and a couple of Kestrals. I saw large numbers of owl pellets though! Ha ha! But no where near the numbers in owls! Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time,
Christina
