Historically the Gypsum Christmas Bird Count has been very good but
not always run. It was started by Bob Crofts and Lou Campbell 40+
years ago. The count circle covers much of Sandusky Bay, Medusa
Marsh, Castalia, Resthaven Wildlife area, Catawba Island, East Harbor
State Park, and Marblehead peninsula. When Bob died 20 years ago, it
ended. Several years ago, Vic Fazio started it up again. But now Vic
has moved to Oklahoma and it has not been regular of late. Chris
Ashley and I are going to try to revive it this year and keep it
going. The date we have chosen is Friday, January 3, 2009.

If you are interested in helping out, contact one of us.
