Yesterday afternoon along Weise Road we saw the large numbers of scaup and
ring-necked ducks, and the horned grebe reported by Doreene in Hoover a
little while ago. We also saw a lone coot, at least 7 Northern shovelers,
about 10 buffleheads, and a single red head. Darn, we missed the
Bonaparte's!
Also, on Saturday we had a really nice look at a pair of pied-billed grebes
on the other side (the west side) of old 3-C, nearer to Plumb Road. There
were also 11 wood ducks far back in that same inlet.
(Thanks to our new friend Donald for his cheer and good spotting.)
