I made a little detour today to see if the merlins were back
at Highland Park Cemetery this year.
I found one, in approximately the same spot as usual, back
by the oil or gas wells. It was perched at the top of a tree on
the golf course, but easily viewed from the cemetery side
were I was driving around.
Otherwise, except for what looked like a pair of red tails, perched
near each other, it was very still there mid day. Blue jays, a pair
of nuthatches and not much else.
(Highland Park Cemetery is in Highland Hills.)
