Birds are definitely on the move. I saw and heard a Chipping Sparrow, a
Yellow-rumped Warbler and a Killdeer on the campus of Youngstown State
University today. A Merlin flew in front of me, over St. Rt. 11 in Liberty
Township, this morning [all in Mahoning County].

When I returned home a bit ago, a Wilson's Snipe was performing a courtship
flight over my side yard. Hopefully others will soon appear.

Also, last Friday I watched a pair of Tree Swallows taking nest material
into a natural cavity near the causeway at Mosquito Lake [Trumbull County].
They were the only swallows present in that area while I was there. About a
dozen Bonaparte's Gulls were hanging out near the bridge, and hundreds of
ducks flew over, heading north. Most were flying very high (too high for me
to identify them) but the few that I could see were Red-breasted Mergansers.
