I've been checking the Struthers - Lowellville stretch of the Mahoning R. every few days in hopes of finding waterbirds. Unfortunately, between the recent snow thaw and more rains, the river remains high and murky. I haven't been finding much in Lowellville, but in Struthers I've had some luck just west of Bob Cene Park. Found in recent days there: Canada geese, Am. black ducks, mallards, ring-necked ducks, buffleheads, c. goldeneyes, hooded mergansers, bald eagle, red-shouldered hawk, and ring-billed gulls. Craig Holt, Lowellville
