Hello everyone.

I'm going to run out to Big Island tomorow around noon to check up on the Godwit. I imagine that on Saturday that there will be a few out of towners will be heading over to see it. The good thing about the area as opposed to when the black neck stilts were here is that there should be ample parking. From a birder standpoint HUGO could not have picked a better place. :-)

Just a safety note to the people coming to see it. There is a ditch that runs in front of the impoundment that HUGO has been spotted in going from 95 and disappears back into the brush. I had noticed that some of the bird watchers used 95 to cross the ditch. It is a very busy road. If you walk down the ditch to the north away from the road there is a grass covered culvert crossing just a few yards from where the dike from the big pond bends and heads north. Once you cross the culvert, you will be right where the Godwit has been hanging around. :-)

Happy Birding and God Bless

Steve
