Those interested in ivory-billed woodpeckers may want to read an article
with photos announcing a recent sighting at
http://www.heliyon.com/article/e00230/ .
An excellent treatment of this species in Ohio is in the summer 2006
issue of The Ohio Cardinal by Ben Leese (all issues available at the OOS
site). Later, Ben discovered an obscure reference to a Miami County Ohio
record (at Hopkins, G. 1804, updated 1862. "A Mission to the Indians,
from the Indian Committee of Baltimore Yearly Meeting, to Fort Wayne in
1804, with an appendix compiled in 1862 by Martha E. Tyson").

Columbus
---somewhere there is a photo of me *carefully* embracing the OSU
Museum's three specimens of IBWP, none of them known to be local.
