Location: Bacon Woods Trail, Vermilion River Metropark, Lorain County
Date: 12/7
Time: 1:30 pm
Walking north on the trail, about 10 yards from the southern end of the long boardwalk. Barrel owl
sitting in a small tree about 15 feet off the ground. Stared at me for maybe 30 seconds, then flew off
maybe 50 feet into a bigger tree and stared at me again.
Woodpeckers were also very active yesterday. Saw probably a dozen Downys and a few Red-Bellieds.
