On our annual Evening Sounds Walk, the Darke County Birders saw and heard the following birds:
Canada Goose
American Robin
Red-winged Blackbird
Mourning Dove
Common Grackle
Northern Cardinal
Blue Jay
American Crow
Mallard
Northern Flicker
Song Sparrow
Belted Kingfisher
The following were seen and not heard:
American Coot
Dark-eyed Junco
Brown Creeper
Downy Woodpecker
White-breasted Nuthatch
Wood Duck
Heard but not seen were:
European Starling
Carolina Wren
House Finch
We also heard Spring Peepers and saw a piney squirrel, gray squirrels and three deer.
The walk was held at Shawnee Prairie Preserve in Greenville.
