Hi All,
I was at Edgewater park today and also saw the trees by the beach
parking lot loaded with warblers. They responded to pishing and I was
soon surrounded by 30+ warblers. There were also many many Chimney
Swifts (50+) flying in the same area.
The weather is very strange today around Cleveland. There is a low
causing a powerful storm which extends from Virginia to remain parked
diagonally SW-NE parked over Avon. One could see the dark clouds very
near the shore of downtown Cleveland. Winds at Edgewater were very
light from the east(+- 10 knots.) We went to Avon and experienced
easterly gusts above 40 knots. I uploaded a couple of web shots of
the radar here:

While speaking with the surfers at Edgewater, they said they had not
seen conditions like this in over seven years. There were 7-9 foot
swells coming in at six second intervals. I look forward to hearing
what other birders saw today along the lake (especially west of
Cleveland.)
Best,
Hans Clebsch
