Yesterday, I was returning home from Magee Marsh when I decided to look at a spot I had done well at a few years ago. It's on Elliston Road, south from OH2, just west of Bono. Drive about 200 yards south to a Catholic Church. East of it is a large field with a shallow pond in it. Yesterday it had a lot of sandpipers in it.
  Seen were: Ruddy Turnstone-1, Lesser Yellowlegs-3, Greater Yellowlegs-2, Willet-1, Least Sandpiper-20-25, Semipalmated Sandpiper-20-25, Sanderling-20-25, Stilt Sandpiper-1, Upland Sandpiper-3(in field). At church- House Finch-2.
I did get a good bird at Magee- Harris Sparrow, first one I've seen in the east.
Telescopes would help. The field is plowed, but very muddy. I doubt if the farmer would like you walking across it.
