Most days I take 15 minutes or so to browse through bird list-serves in
other states, mostly close-by. I go to what was once called Jack Siler's
Site, since acquired and gussied up with ads by the Am. Birding Ass'n,
at  http://birding.aba.org/  . I look for the names of well-informed
writers, or of course for the occasional lurid title. When--heaven
forbid!--the Ohio list grows dull or repetitive, it's an opportunity to
learn about birds, or, occasionally, birders. Here's a sample from this
morning:
        The Connecticut list has an old favorite

        From the NJ list come some grumpy but often on-target remarks on local
birders:
