Just returned home from leading a waterfowl field trip for Canton Audubon. We covered 4 lakes in these 3 counties. We saw 46 species of birds, 23 species of waterfowl. Here are the highlights.
Mogadore Resv., Congress Lake Rd:
3 grebe species---Pied-bill, Horned, & Red-necked
2 Bald Eagles
east end of reservoir at Palm & Sax Rds.:
3 Tree Swallows
Walborn Resv., eagle nest observation platform:
3 Blue-wing Teal
10 Green-wing teal
probably about 100 Am. Wigeon
Reeder Rd.:
Red-necked Grebe
1 blue-phase Snow Goose
1 Common Loon
Berlin Resv., at causeway:
1 Common Loon
Lake Milton State Park:
23 Tundra Swans
Mahoning Ave. causeway:
100+ Lesser Scaup
200+ Redheads
50+ Canvasbacks
