The boardwalk at Hoover Reservoir north of Columbus is made for
wheelchair access and even has a receded railing over looking the
mudflats so that you have a better view.

One of our staff members was wheelchair bound and helped us to design
this so that everyone could enjoy the birding.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Wheelchair bound birding

Dear List,

I am still recovering from a broken leg, but my wife and I want to get
out for some birding near Oberlin (20 mi sw of Cleveland airport).

I know about the boardwalk at Magee Marsh, but most places near here
have gravel or mud trails, which is too much for my wheelchair. In
particular, Sandy Ridge, our best closest bet, is too difficult.

Someone mentioned that Columbia Reservation Metropark has some asphalt
trails but I don't know if the birding is any good.

Thanks for any suggestions.

David Riggs
