I gave up on studying to venture out into the spring warmth. A quick trip to pickerington ponds yielded some nice raptors.
Had a pair of osprey (FOS) on the platform at the main park entrance. First time I've seen water there I think since I moved here alm 2 yrs ago. A N Harrier was in the same area & a couple Red-taileds. There was also at least one if not 2 pheasants calling then seen briefly in flight.
At wood duck pond, there was an ad Bald Eagle & a sharpie.
I didn't scope the ducks but there seemed a good variety w/decent numbers. With binos tallied Ring-necked, Am Wigeon, N Shoveler, Redhead, Canvasback, Gadwall, scaup sp, mallard, coot, Horned Grebe.
