Well, I have sent pics to several people more experienced than I, and it
seems likey that the bird pointed out by Ed Schlabach at East 55th Street Marina
in Cleveland on 12/28 WAS a Lesser Black-backed Gull.  The salient points:  it
was dark-backed and smaller than the attendant Herring Gulls nearby, and not
much else fits that description.

If anyone would like the pics, please e-mail me off list and I'll send them
along.  Otherwise, I think I'm going to "count him".
