This afternoon at around 4:30 PM we had 2 merlins at Greenlawn Cemetery in
SOuth Columbus. South of the bridge was a male high on a bare branch. A
female was eating a sparrow on the ridge west of the central mausoleum.
She was high in a spruce which has a dead bare top. We had great looks at
both. Thanks to the gentleman who pointed out the female for me. The
female was certainly larger than the male and had a buffier chest with
less dramatic chest streaking than the male. Also had a Golden Crowned
kinglet on the ridge behind the pit.
