Driving out of Battelle - Darby Creek Metro Park (Cedar Ridge area) on Darby
Creek Rd. (DeLorme 67: A-7) about 10:00 yesterday morning, I had a brief but
memorable encounter. Chasing a small group of Rock Pigeons that were flying
towards me was a larger raptor resembling a feathered torpedo. A very short
view (5 seconds or less) allowed me to certain of little besides very
obvious "sideburns" on its face. Not a positive ID, for sure, but enough to
give anyone in the area the heads-up. Hope this bird sticks around the
area!
