Hello Ohio Birders,

Several black-crowned night herons continue to roost during the day on the west bank of the Olentangy River just north of the Herrick Drive Bridge (opposite Drake Union), OSU campus. They've been there for several weeks, but it's now a new year (therefore a new list).

At 4:30 pm today I saw an adult bald eagle flying north along the Olentangy River just south of the Henderson Rd. bridge (by Whetstone High School). (An eagle has wintered along this stretch of river in the past.)

Happy New Year and good birding to all.

Dave Horn
