I also visited the Mosquito Area today. While I missed the Shrike, I found
the following:
Bald Eagle - 2
American Kestrel - 1
Rough-legged Hawk - 4
Red Tail Hawk - 14
Northern Harrier - 4
Red-shouldered Hawk - 2
Cooper's Hawk - 1
Eastern Bluebird - 5
Turkey - 56

I did some exploring of the back roads on the way home. In North Bloomfield
I found:
American Kestrel - 1
Red Tail Hawk - 2
Northern Harrier - 2
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
Turkey - 23
Great Blue Heron - 1

In Mesopotamia:
Bald Eagle - 1 adult
Red Tail Hawk - 2
Red-shouldered Hawk - 2
American Kestrel - 1

Draw a straight line on a map of Ohio from Kirtland to North Bloomfield. The
line will cross through Amish country with rolling hillsides, creeks and
wide-open farmlands that are ideal for raptors, snow buntings and shrikes.
At the very least, it is a scenic afternoon ride.
