Hello all,

It took a few days to put all the details together, but I finally have the
final tally from our big day of Glen Helen birding on Saturday, May 5th.
The prairie and edge habitat off Grinnell Road and the riparian woodland
along Birch Creek were the clear hot spots. Birders found 80 species in
the Glen, including two that hadn't previously been reported. We stayed
honest with the count, so chipping sparrows seen across the street from
the preserve were not counted.

Other notable misses include Eastern bluebird and wild turkey, both of
which I expected. A trio of sandhill cranes that flew over the Glen the
previous day also did not earn a place on the list.

Here's the complete list talied from all observers:
Great blue heron

Canada goose (with young)
Wood duck
Mallard
Cooper's hawk
