Many thanks to Paul for coming to look at this Gull.  I am wrong I believe 
re it being a Glaucous Gull.  But I think having seen it against GBHs and 
Egrets that it is just too large for a Ringbill.  I think that it is 
probably a herring Gull with pale primaries.  It is a stocky gull although 
that is not so apparent in the picture that Paul sent me.  Thanks to the 
others that have tried to see the Gull and have emailed me privately. 
Gulls are difficult for me and I think others as well as they have so many 
variations in plumage.   Thanks again Phillip north
