I roamed along the bikepath and shoreline of the nascent downtown park for a little over an hour this morning.  A cold N wind made looking for migrants challenging, until I had one of those 'think like a bird' epiphanies.  I walked down into a windless pocket at the head of the bay above the dam and ran into a nice accumulation of migrants foraging along the very edge of the water and willows. Highlights included:

Herons:  12 Great Egrets, 3 Great Blue Herons, 2 Green Herons, 1 Black-crowned Night Heron made for a good number along the Scioto river here.

Flycatchers ; A few Wood Pewees were along the shore.

Vireos: A Warbling was singing along the shore

Thrushes: 2 Swainsons were calling from thickets along the bikepath

Warblers: 9 species, including Nashville, Tennessee, Black-thr.Blue, Black-thr.Green (2), Cape May (3), Yellow-rumped, Blackpoll (3), Black&White, Redstart(2)

Buntings/Grosbeaks: 1 Rose-breasted Grosbeak foraging along the shoreline.
