After enlarging and reviewing my hypothetical Laughing Gull photos 
from this past Monday, September 17th, it appears it was a Franklin's Gull, 
not a Laughing Gull. I should have based my call on more than the black bill 
and dark legs. The photos revealed the gull to be much smaller than an 
adjacent Herring Gull, very visible large white tips on the primaries, and a 
short-legged stocky look.

            Next time, not so quick on judgement !!!
