Migration brings some wonderful surprises through my yard, and this morning
has been no exception. I live in Clintonville, a suburb on the north side of
Columbus. This morning I had a yellow-bellied sapsucker, and a mystery bird
I would like some help IDing, please. Of course, I only got a brief glimpse
through the leaves on my silver maple, but here is what I caught: a distinct
entire white eye ring, olive on the back (I'm pretty sure; the memory of
what I see seems to fade very quickly anymore, could've been olive-gray), a pale
yellow wash over the entire belly which was otherwise unmarked, and two
white wing bars. No other distinct markings, at least not that I saw. Not sure
of the beak; I feel lucky to have caught all that I did see. Part of the
time it was visible I was feeling for my binoculars while trying to watch where
it went. How frustrating! However, this would be a new yard bird for me. I
have a hunch but it seems too wild to me and I would rather wait for some
feedback. (Of course, having a Swainson's Thrush come through last spring
seemed pretty wild to me, too!)

I have gotten wonderful feedback on similar requests for help in the past,
and am very appreciative of all the replies. This listserve is a wonderful
source of information! Thank you!
