Little Blue Heron: Remaining at Hoover Nature Preserve, Delaware
county, 26th. 27th. Not on the 29th.

MISSISSIPPI KITE: Confirmed as a nester at the Brass Ring Golf
Course, Logan county, on the 31st when Jim McCormac and others found
a juvenile bird being fed by an adult. The time draws close when
these birds will head south.

American Avocet: Ben Coulter saw 22 at Conneaut, Ashtabula county, on
the 25th. Mark Vass reported one from there the next day. Three spent
a few hours on the 25th at Camp Denison/Grand Valley Preserve, Indian
Hill, according to preserve naturalist Dennis Smoyer. Bob Powell
reported that one was at ABX Air wastewater treatment plant on
Jenkins Road south of Wilmington, Clinton county, on the 29th. It
remained on the 31st. Birders wishing to visit should call Tanya
Carey 937-366-2923 or Eric Davenport 937-305-7229 well ahead of time,
so they can notify security to expect you.

Whimbrel: Ethan Kisler spotted a distant bird from Hoagland-
Blackstub Rd at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, on the
26th. John Pogacnik saw one make a touch-and-go at Conneaut on the
27th.

Marbled Godwit: One of the Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area birds was
found on the 25th by Glen Crippen.

Red Knot: Ben Coulter reported three at Conneaut on the 25th. Mark
Vass upped the number to five on the 26th. Paul Gardner found two
remaining on the 30th.

Western Sandpiper: Gabe Leidy found them on the 26th at Mosquito
Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull county.

Baird's Sandpiper: PG 25th. Jack Stenger spotted one at Hogback Road
at Alum Creek State Park, Delaware county, on the 26th. Mark Vass
found one at Conneaut on the same day. John Pogacnik found two there
the next day.

White-rumped Sandpiper: Gabe Leidy found them on the 26th at Mosquito
Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull county.

Wilson's Phalarope: Jeff Grabmeier found one at Hoover Nature
Preserve on the 25th. Gabe Leidy had one at Mosquito Creek Wildlife
Area the next day.

Red-necked Phalarope: Nate Nye had one flying around the boardwalk at
Hoover Nature Preserve on the 24th.

Black Tern: Made a big push through Ohio this week. On the 24th, Bill
Leaman had 35 to 40 at East Fork SP, Clermont county. Jay Stenger saw
22 at Deer Creek SP Lake, Pickaway county, and another eight at a
borrow pit west of Wilmington on the same day. Also on the 24th, Glen
Crippen found nine at Hoover Reservoir, Delaware county, On the 25th,
Rob Thorn counted a minimum of 46 there. Jack Stenger added two at
Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area on the 26th.

WHITE-WINGED-DOVE: Su Synder reported that one was visiting a feeder
at Dean Borntrager's farm near Walnut Creek, Holmes county, at least
since the 22nd. It was last reported on the 29th by Laura Dornan.
There is a negative report from the 30th. To get to Dean's farm, take
Rt. 39 south from Millersburg.  Turn left on to Rt. 515.  After a few
miles, turn right on to CR 172 and then right on to TR 419.  It's the
first farm on the left, 5631 TR 419.  Park at the second driveway and
walk about 50 yards to a green well.  Watch his deer feeders and
watch the fence poles and wires.

RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD: Gabe Hostetler observed one while visiting
private property in Jefferson County on the 25th and 26th.

Olive-sided Flycatcher: Angela Petersen saw one at the Three Creeks
Metro Park Confluence Trails, Franklin county, on the 31st. Mark
Gilsdorf reported that one was seen during the morning birdwalk at
the Cincinnati Nature Center on the 1st.

Golden-Winged Warbler: Rich Nirschl found one at Greenwood Park,
Toledo, on the 31st.
