The hoary redpoll was not seen today that I know of. There were a ton of
common redpolls here today. I am not sure that most are not different
flocks as there were some oddball birds that were spotted such as one with
some white spots on the head and back. From what I have seen in the past
this time of year I get different flocks of birds moving through. The birds
are a little more jumpy and don't hang around long. I think these birds are
passing through. Later in the winter the birds set up a feeding pattern and
are much more tolerant.

Here is a breakdown of the redpoll activity today (times are rough):

8:30- 60+ birds at northwest feeders (white-winged crossbill showed up
briefly)
10:00- 30+ birds by garage feeders
10:30- 60+ birds at northwest feeders
11:30- 70+ birds by garage feeders
1:45-100+ birds at northwest feeders
no activity after 1:45
