Greetings

Our yard has been full of Red Wings most of the Tuesday forcing many
of the smaller birds to take flight. Not much to report from the home
front.

It's was however, a good evening to get out of the house and
observe what was happening in the Wakeman, Lorain County area .
Along Green Road we spotted a barred owl in the pine grove just
beyond the intersection of Lincoln . It's the third sighting of the
owl in the same location over a three week span. Driving North, a
pair of Red Tails were perched along a stand of trees before the Day
Camp of Camp Timberline. Going East on Ward Road, the unmistakable
outline of a Great Horned Owl.
We had heard the Great Horned calling earlier in the week in the same
vicinity.
A quick tour of the Lorain County Airport gave us good looks of 5
Rough Legged Hawks from Russia Road. One was devouring dinner at the
intersection of Russia and Oberlin Road.
Happy Birding
Dorothy & Doug
