There was a great movement of birds on the lake this morning with a great
movement of over 16,000 red-breasted mergansers. There was a nice variety
of ducks and gulls with good numbers of Bonaparte's gulls. Of interest were
single ICELAND AND GLAUCOUS GULLS. The only new arrival was common loon.
There were actually more songbirds moving yesterday than today due to the
east wind. Of interest was a pileated woodpecker that was flying out over
the lake heading west.
